Plus offers a thicker alternative to DiamondClear for projects where additional paint protection is a priority.

No. The nominal 8.5 mil thickness includes the topcoat, TPU film and adhesive: the layers that remain on the vehicle. The removable protective capsheet and release liner are excluded.
DiamondClear Plus’s heat-responsive topcoat allows light surface scratches and swirl marks to recover. Self-healing applies to superficial marks in the coating, not deep cuts, punctures or damage to the underlying paint. It helps maintain the film’s appearance but does not make it scratch-proof.
